Make a list of the shows you want to apply to, placing them in order of preference. Then get out your applications as soon as you can, that way if one is full or you are rejected, then you can quickly apply to the next one on the list.

Home Parties: If you have a craft that demonstrates well, you can consider a home party. This would involve either hosting one in your own home, or have a host/hostess do one for you – and he/she would invite the guests. You would bring your items, set them up and do a demonstration or talk on the process of making the items. Then you would either take orders or have stock there to sell.

I prefer the real thing. Offer me something tangible and I may get excited.

I guess you probably feel the same.

Unfortunately, the plague of spam isn’t going to fade away any time soon, although authorities (at least in Australia) have started taking legal action and imposing hefty penalties for spamming. Hallelujah!

As a last resort, I decided to make my own small contribution to reducing the spam plague. If each of us does something, the cumulative effect will be damaging to the spammers. Here’s what I did. I’ve collected thousands of email addresses that arrived in spam messages and ended up in my blacklist. I decided I’d give those people using automatic harvesting software an opportunity to suck up all those addresses and reuse them.

I’ve dedicated quite a few pages on my site that have nothing but the email addresses from the blacklist. That is, the addresses of the spammers, most of which are false and don’t lead to anyone … at least not to anyone who can read (otherwise I’d include an obscene message).

When the spam harvesting software goes through my site, it won’t find a single working email address in my site proper, but it will stumble on a goldmine of addresses and load them into it’s database.

There are lots of reasons to create

There are lots of reasons to create a video biography. Some people have a desire to share and pass down stories from one generation to another while others would like to leave behind a family or personal legacy. Whatever your reason is, while creating a video biography can an incredibly enriching and rewarding experience, it can also be a very daunting task.

There are many things to consider before you start your project. Here are just a few:

The Story

It is my opinion that if your stories require a lot of details such as time, date, place, clothing worn, and other historically factual data, then just pick one or two stories to tell.

by admin on Sep.08, 2010, under Uncategorized

It is a scene right out of Star Wars, the one in the bar, and you feel trapped in it. In a little while everyone is gone, even the dirty-faced dog walker. The door shuts and reality sets in. He isn?t coming home. Ever. And in those early days after the funeral, performing the simplest of tasks will seem monumental. You will wonder can I make it – Without Him?

You can. And you will.

Here are ten tips to help you survive?after the funeral:

1. Do say yes to a friend, close relative, or good neighbor, who offers to spend the night (or more), while you slip into something uncomfortable – Widowhood.

Don?t be alone that first night, not unless you don?t have a choice.

You can register with the groups online. Find ones in your area by doing a Google search.

3) Busker on a street corner. Do you have musical or artistic talent? Many towns and cities allow people to sing, play instruments, paint, draw, etc. for donations or small fees on street corners. Check with your city licensing office to see if you need a permit.

4) Donate plasma. This is the old college student stand-by (along with sometimes donations to sperm banks).

5) Become a mystery or secret shopper. Payment is small (usually $10-$25) per assignment, but oftentimes you get to keep what they make you buy–after they reimburse you for it.

The returned elements have a ?row?

by admin on Sep.08, 2010, under Uncategorized

The returned elements have a ?row? prefix to it.

The ?nested? mode allows formatting to be done at the client side and it is the same as the ?auto? mode except for this difference. The explicit mode is the most powerful mode for returning data. It is possible to define how you want the data and you can even use filters and sorts to get the data in the way you want.

Apart from these there are optional parameters for the SQL query. The optional parameters as the name indicates can either be used or neglected. The optional parameters that can be used are Binary Base64, Elements, and XMLData. With the optional parameters in place the syntax would take the form,

SELECT … FOR XML mode [, BINARY BASE64] [, ELEMENTS] [, XMLDATA]

The Binary Base64 option is used if you want to retrieve data in the binary format from the database. Binary data that is found in the database should be retrieved using this option. The modes that are used to retrieve data in binary format are the ?raw? and the ?explicit? modes.

The Elements option is used to return the data in the table as child elements.

Payroll Contributions, Not Taxes

0 Comments | Intelligencer Journal Lancaster New Era; Combined Saturday edition, Sep 11, 2008

TO THE EDITOR:

Political spinning and word-smithing have totally distorted a very important current economic topic. It is important to stop this intentional and politically motivated fabrication. The real fact is that employee payments to the U.S. Social Security and Medicare systems are contributions made through payroll deductions. Contrary to distortions, they are not payroll taxes.

In 1935, FICA was created. For those who do not know, this was the Federal Insurance Contribution Act. The key word was contribution

Plus sized clothes stores,

by admin on Sep.08, 2010, under Uncategorized

Plus sized clothes stores, both on the street and on line, should have lingerie sections. Remember, even if a woman is shopping for plus sized clothes that wearing the right under garments can make her them fit better, make her feel better, and set a good foundation for her entire look.

Lastly, plus sized apparel shopping really should be enjoyable. There should be no guilt when looking at plus sized clothes. Instead of worrying about judgments of others, larger women should simply enjoy the shopping experience. It is nobody?s business if a woman wears larger sizes or not. If the experience of shopping for plus sized clothes is enjoyable, then a woman is more likely to pick the looks that are best for her.

Believing in yourself Now you might

Believing in yourself

Now you might ask, isn’t believing in yourself the same thing as accepting encouragement?

Not really.

One has to come before the other. If you aren’t going to accept encouragement, it’s mighty hard to believe in yourself, isn’t it? The encouragement given to you is external. Once you have truly accepted and absorbed it, and owned it as true, then you are on your way to believing in yourself. Sometimes that’s hard to do when you’re facing rejection, encountering roadblocks, and things aren’t coming together as you’ve hoped…just yet.

You know deep down inside why you’re doing what you’re doing. You have a God given talent, a calling, or a message. Trust it. Things don’t always happen on our timetable…or exactly in the way you planned. Lots of times, it’s that thing that comes out of left field. Somebody saw your website link in some odd place, or someone found out about you from someplace or someone else…maybe an avenue you weren’t ever aware of.

There’s an emerging and powerful way to embrace and accept encouragement and believe in yourself: partnering with someone who can hold up a mirror to your thoughts, plans and goals.
